Life Magazine Reviews Mr. Toad
"Although the Ichabod half of Icabod and Mr. Toad is silly and bumbling, Mr. Toad's half is good enough to convince Disney admirers that the old master can still display all the bounce and vitality he had before the war."
So said Life Magazine's review of The Adventure of Ichabod and Mr. Toad in the November 21, 1949, issue. A young and dapper Ricardo Montalban graced the cover, and a dashing and adventurous J. Thaddeus Toad grinned inside.

The review of the movie included a two-page spread of scenes, as well as a sidebar about Kenneth Grahame, the author of the book on which the Disney movie was based: The Wind in the Willows.
