Today, a friend told me she'd randomly run across an impromptu eulogy I'd delivered at another friend's funeral (Jos--a really forward-thinking guy--passed away at just 25, when we both worked at WebTV).
The other day, a different friend asked me whether I'd started a blog. (I do have one related to Abraham Lincoln, but I don't think that's what she meant.)
Together, these events have prompted me to start this blog. The ironic thing is that I've come full circle. Here is my old Web page from 1996:
It was my forum for discussing emerging technology and tech trends (The Road Ahead). One big thing at the time was Internet television:
Yep, Sony had just announced their partnership with WebTV. I followed this news closely and eventually went to work for WebTV (now part of MSN TV). Now, that either speaks poorly of my ability to pick tech winners, or it shows how ahead of my time I am. Afterall, Apple TV is finally bringing the Internet and TV together in a beautiful way.

What else was hot 12 years ago? That new Web site Amazon.com and Guy Kawasaki!
It's just been way too long since I've written about things I think are cool. I hope you enjoy this blog. You may read about an up and coming tech shift (I'll write about Surface and the iPhone soon). You may read about a good book I read. You may read about something I surfed into that held me in its current for a while.
I'm not really sure where this is going to go. As my hero J. Thaddeus Toad sang in Disney's 1949 rendition of Wind in the Willows:
We're merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily on our way to...nowhere in par-tic-ular!
